The goals for “You and Blood Clots – An Animated Patient's Guide to Understanding Venous Thromboembolism (VTE)" are to:

1. Enhance communications between VTE patients and their caregivers by increasing understanding of the complexities of their disease, its risk, its symptoms, therapeutic options, management strategies, and health outcomes.
2. Explain and contrast the complex evidence-based clinical data, scientific concepts of VTE, and provide greater understanding on the role of different therapeutic agents – including treatment risks and benefits in disease management, as well as issues about safety, side-effects, and utility in the spectrum of management options related to VTE.
3. Empower patients through effective education on VTE to be better partners with their healthcare providers thereby promoting better dialogue between patients and physicians leading to improved health outcomes.
